“Hyrox and CrossFit Are Great. But Here’s What’s Missing.”

Don’t get me wrong — I think Hyrox and CrossFit are amazing. They’ve built strong communities, inspired so many to challenge themselves, and shown what the human body can really do.

But if I’m honest, that style of training doesn’t fit everyone. Not everyone wants to race against the clock. Not everyone wants to lift until failure. And not everyone wants to pay premium prices just to feel like they’re “doing fitness right.”

That’s where Move Free Community (Adults) came in — something I started for people who just want to move again, feel good, and build strength that lasts.

🌿 A Space for People Like Us

When I first started Move Free, it wasn’t about creating another “fitness program.”
It was about creating a space for busy adults, beginners, or anyone who has fallen in and out of love with exercise to find joy in movement again.

No fancy gear, no loud music, no pressure to keep up. Just a group of real people, a park, and a simple idea: show up and move together.

Every week, we see members who come straight from work, still in their office wear, roll up their sleeves and get moving. Some are there to regain balance, some to rebuild endurance, others to simply get out of the “sit all day” cycle. And every single one of them is proof that you don’t need perfection, just presence.

🧘♀️ Move at Your Own Pace

I know how intimidating fitness spaces can feel. You walk in and immediately start comparing, who’s stronger, faster, leaner.

At Move Free, there’s no leaderboard, no competition, and definitely no “you should be here by now”. Every exercise can be scaled, and you’ll never feel left behind.

Some days, you’ll feel strong and push harder. Other days, you’ll just need to move, breathe, and show up. And that’s completely okay. Because here, progress isn’t measured in reps but measured in how often you show up for yourself.

🌤 We Train Outside the Box

Literally. We meet outdoors — East Coast Park, Bedok Reservoir, or wherever nature feels alive. There’s something special about training in the open air, listening to the sound of waves or leaves rustling while you move.

Out there, you learn to balance on uneven ground, adapt to your environment, and reconnect with your surroundings. As I like to remind my participants, “Be strong to be useful”. That’s the kind of strength we build i.e. practical, adaptable, and ready for everyday life.

⚡ It’s Not About Perfection

If Hyrox and CrossFit test performance, Move Free tests possibility. What happens when we bring curiosity and play back into movement? When we chase a handstand not because it’s on the program, but because it makes us feel alive?

I’ve seen people surprise themselves. Discovering balance, speed, or agility they didn’t know they had. It’s always progress over perfection.

🤝 A Community That Grows With You

One thing I often tell new participants: my goal isn’t to keep you here forever. It’s to see you grow confident enough to move freely on your own.

When that happens, it means Move Free has done its job. Because this community isn’t about dependency, it’s about empowerment.

🌈 Move Free Is for Real Life

So no, we’re not Hyrox. We’re not CrossFit either. We’re the space in between where movement is approachable, affordable, and deeply human.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to start, this might be it. You don’t need a gym or a competition to feel strong again. You just need a pair of shoes, an open mind, and the willingness to move freely.
