How to Choose the Right Physical
Enrichment Class for Your Child

These days, there’s no shortage of enrichment programs for kids — from coding to sports to public speaking. But when it comes to choosing a physical enrichment class, how do you know which one is truly a good fit for your child?

A recent CNA article offered a timely reminder:

“Parents have to be careful that these activities do not become additional pressures. Enrichment is meant to enhance your child’s learning experience, not add unnecessary stress.”

That really hits home, doesn’t it? Enrichment should feel enriching — not exhausting.

So before you sign up for the next available class or commit to a term package, here are a few simple questions to reflect on:

  • Does your child look forward to the class? If it brings a smile to their face, that’s already a good sign.
  • Have you noticed any positive changes — physically, socially, or emotionally — since they started?
  • Is the instructor open and honest with feedback about your child’s progress?
  • Are you enrolling just for exposure, or are you thinking about long-term development? (This also helps in deciding how much to budget.)
  • Is the cost sustainable for you over time to see real improvements?
  • Does the class location work for your family schedule — or is the quality worth a little extra travel?
  • What area of your child’s growth are you hoping to support? And does this class align with that?

At Move Free Kids, we offer something a little different. Our physical enrichment classes aren’t just about movement — they’re about building confidence, resilience, and social-emotional skills, all through outdoor play.

From conquering fears (even the fear of bugs!) to learning how to assess risk during natural play, our sessions are full of real-life teachable moments. If you believe in the power of outdoor play, and in movement as a way to nurture the whole child — we’d love for you to join us for a trial class. 😊
